Romero is a rather dull, creepy Poffin, who spends his days working as a diligent bellhop and hotel staff member -- a staff of which he's seemingly the only member of. Though the hotel which he runs is often deemed incredibly strange, unnerving, and would be no sane person's first choice of lodging, it is nevertheless quite operational despite it's old age and unsettling demeanor.

Almost mirroring the hotel itself, Romero is often considered creepy due to his blunt, unexpressive demeanor and tendency to loom around and appear almost anywhere he is needed with a strange sort of dutifulness -- but ultimately, he is utterly harmless. In fact, he's very helpful and friendly, if you can get past the spookiness of all his oddities.
